I’m the kind of Sims 4 player who is constantly spinning a story in the back of her mind while playing the game. I get hugely attached to my characters, and was fortunate enough to find a community of people at Carl & Pam’s Sims 4 Forum who shared my passion for people made of pixels, who were interested in hearing the stories I was spinning and who spun some pretty amazing and fascinating tales themselves.
I was content to post my stories and accompanying screenshots on the forum itself until earlier this year when the site I’d been using to host my photos decided to abruptly begin charging an arm and a leg for what had previously been a free service. Not having any arms or legs to spare, I decided to seek out other methods of bringing my stories to the web and settled on a blog. I’m really enjoying it so far.
I’ve got a few stories going at the moment, so I’ll use this first post to introduce them:
- Top Secret: The Spiffendale *Unofficial* Immortal Dynasty – This one is a complete failure, with the emphasis on “complete.” It is a failed attempt at the Immortal Dynasty Challenge that nevertheless became a completed story. It’s my baby. My magnum opus. I adore my Spiffendales past all reason, and I hope you’ll enjoy reading about their journey as well. The completed story exists in its entirety on Carl’s, and I’ll be posting it bit by bit here in order to get the photo links updated, hopefully before the aforementioned photo hosting website cuts the cord on me.
- Three Times a Lady: A Rival Dynasties Challenge – This one is just beginning, and was nearly abandoned when I discovered World of Warcraft last spring and began spending every spare second of my time on Azeroth. I’ve recently cut myself off from orc hunting, so I’m resuming this story effective immediately. I’ll be posting this simultaneously here and on the forum.
- Buried in Berries: A Not So Berry Legacy Challenge – This is a fun file I started recently that I’m hoping to turn into a story. The breakneck pace of the Rival Dynasties Challenge wears me out a bit, and it’s nice to be able to unwind with something more low-key. I love the quirkiness of this challenge and I’m excited to see where it goes.
So that’s what you can expect from this blog! I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoy writing.
